An attorney and legal expert specializing in civil rights, social justice, and policy advocacy. Monahan’s career centers on addressing complex health and social service programs for vulnerable populations in the U.S. and globally. He has held leadership roles across all three branches of the federal government and contributed to philanthropy, academia, and politics at global and local levels. Notably, he served as Counselor to the Secretary of Health and Human Services, advising on unaccompanied children at the U.S.-Mexico border and Afghan arrivals, and as Special Advisor for Global Health Partnerships at the State Department.
