Webinar: Can Faith and Health Partnerships Heal the Trust Divide?

Join us for the inaugural session of a new webinar series led by the Georgetown-Lancet Commission on Faith, Trust, and Health. This webinar reimagines the role of faith-health partnerships in strengthening trust in health services across communities worldwide.

Deus Bazira is the inaugural director of the Georgetown University Global Health Institute. A member of the Georgetown community since 2019, he is also an associate professor of medicine at Georgetown’s School of Medicine and serves as director of Georgetown’s Center for Global Health Practice and Impact.

Richard Horton is the editor-in-chief of The Lancet, one of the world’s most influential medical journals. A leading voice in global health, Horton has advanced discussions on the intersection of science, ethics, and society, and he has been instrumental in shaping international responses to major health challenges.

Sister Carol Keehan, D.C., is the chairperson of the health task force for the Vatican COVID-19 Commission and former chief executive officer of the Catholic Health Association (CHA) of the United States. Under her leadership, CHA worked closely with policymakers, health care providers, and faith-based organizations to improve health care systems, particularly for underserved populations.

Alaa Murabit is a physician and chair of the board of Girls Not Brides. Earlier in her career, she founded Voice of Libyan Women, catalyzing a global movement challenging religious misinterpretation to reimagine gender equity and security. Her work has shaped United Nations Security Council Resolutions; advanced the Women, Peace, and Security agenda; and architected the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). She is a United Nations Secretary-General-appointed SDG advocate and has served on boards including Women for Women International and the Malala Fund.
