Nate Smith

Executive Pastor, Trinity Anglican Church; Fmr. Medical Officer, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Fmr. Director & State Health Officer, Arkansas Department of Health

An infectious disease physician and Executive Pastor at Trinity Anglican Church, he integrates his faith and commitment to medicine to promote health equity. Previously, Dr. Smith served as the Director and State Health Officer for the Arkansas Department of Health, and President of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. In these roles, he led a variety of public health programs and services across Arkansas, including immunizations, chronic disease prevention, and outbreak response. His career also spans significant international experience, notably medical missionary work in Kenya, where he contributed to reducing HIV prevalence through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
