Religious Partnerships Can Strengthen Health Delivery

In an editorial published in The BMJ, Commissioner Katherine Marshall, Senior Fellow Olivia Wilkinson, Commissioner Sister Carol Keehan, and former White House COVID-19 Coordinator Ashish Jha argue that effective partnerships between faith and health organizations are impactful but rare. Drawing on global efforts surrounding the Ebola, COVID-19, and HIV/AIDS outbreaks, the authors conclude that short-term, crisis-driven partnerships are prone to mistrust, whereas long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships enable both partners to flourish.
